It hasn’t been widely reported in the mainstream media, but Michelle Obama has just made comments that were almost as cringeworthy as her famous remarks about “being proud for the first time in her adult life to be an American” after her husband won the election. This time, she went on about ‘Hopelessness’, as in “we all feel hopeless since Trump won the election” (My interpretation, not her words). WTF? Are you kidding me?
I actually had to go on to snopes.com and check other sources to assure myself of the validity of her comments. Sadly, there is video of it. Video of the (soon to be former) First Lady of our nation, telling people that because their side didn’t win the election, they are actually feeling ‘hopeless’. Just in case you aren’t sure of the definition, I looked it up for you on Merriam-Webster. Of the three common definitions, I would guess that she was actually pointing to the third one. ” a: having no expectation of good or success b : not susceptible to remedy or cure c : incapable of redemption or improvement“. That fits nicely in-line with Hillary’s “Basket of Deplorables” commentary doesn’t it? And it shows you the kind of thought process that most of us knew was already there. The kind of egalitarianism that they know better, their devotees are superior and the unwashed masses that voted for Trump consist of a rag-tag bunch of rednecks, illiterati and low-IQ voters that Trump appealed to with his lowbrow demeanor and vulgar commentary. Period. If indeed this country had that many of those people in it, then we’d be a third-world banana republic – not the greatest nation on Earth. Anyone who believes that intelligent, educated, open-minded people didn’t also vote for Trump simply doesn’t know how to count. To 63,000,000 people. Be serious.
Remember Obama’s disdainful comment about how people “…get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”. Ironically, right after those remarks in 2008, Obama’s primary opponent, none other than Hillary Clinton herself, called him “Elitist”. She commented “I was taken aback by the demeaning remarks Senator Obama made about people in small-town America. His remarks are elitist and out of touch…”. Wow. If that isn’t the kettle calling the pot black.
If you, as an American, are okay with Michelle Obama’s comments, then God help you. You have zero legitimacy to complain about Donald Trump in my eyes. If Michelle Obama really has as little respect for the American electorate as it appears she has, then they really ought to consider moving to another country that is more in line with her beliefs. Not sure where that is, but it ain’t here, last time I checked. Can you imagine Laura Bush making those kinds of comments after Barack Obama won the election? No? Why? Because (a) she’s too classy, (b) she loves her country, warts and all (c) she respects the will of the people or (d) all of the above. My guess is that it would be d.
Michelle and Barry need to go away. The faster we can forget and erase the past eight years from our collective conscious, the better.
